If you've ever had to do old fashion 'darkroom' photography as I had to for
a good number of years, you'll easily see why Photoshop is a GOD send. As with all serious software applications it takes time, but once you start it's like eating munchies...you'll find it hard to stop.
I teach the subject at a local college and have found the following books excellent for digital photograpers... Adobe Photoshop Studio Techniques by Ben Willmore (far better than the Classroom in A Book), and Photoshop Restoration and Retouching by Katrin Eisman.
