Swann--maybe I'll keep it. Amazing the performance they get for 1/8 the cost!

    mbru65,
great series, good to have you back!
i had VC21 some time ago, loved the size, performance and the price of it, sold it, and would love to have it again...
the only thing i did not like about the lens is "bokeh", or however you want to call it - parts out of focus had clustered grain, looked rough.

Yooloo--good question this bokeh thing. I think some would argue that bokeh is less important with so wide a lens, due to the enormous DoF. But you have a point. I have taken lately to obsessing over lens quality--Leica, Nikkor, Voigtlander--too much! The VCs are so tempting though, and they are great lenses. I love what Mr. Kobayashi is doing--mbru65

    mbru65,
went back to my old negs and found out it wasn't just ouf-of-focus parts, even big portions of uniform color had that "orange peel" look i didn't like. maybe i just had a bad one?
huge respect for what mr. Kobayashi did and is doing! i know many will disagree, but wasn't that leica's original philosophy - small, cheap (yes, cheap!) cameras and lenses for everybody?
as a LTM user - and i know there are more people out there still shooting with these - i can't tell you how happy i was
