In addition to the Sigma Art telezoom, Sigma will also announce a successor of the well known 30/1.4 (APS-C) lens. It will be a lens from the Contemporary line, no Art line, which is good for the wallet :)

Specification so far:

  • Lens design: 9 elements in 7 groups (double-sided aspherical lens high refractive index and high dispersion glass)
  • Aperture blades: 9 (circular aperture)
  • Filter Size: 52mm
  • AF motor: stepping motor
  • Shortest focusing distance: 30cm
  • Inner focus...
Sigma will announce 2 new lenses next week for the CP+ show. Oe of them will be a telezoom from the Art series: Sigma 50-100/1.8 DC HSM Art. I guess again for the Canon, Nikon and Pentax mount.

The disadvantages of this big aperture are the filter size of 82mm, the weight of 1490g and the price of around 1.400$

Dear members,

we have added a new feature within the forum of Camera-info.com. You can now publish your own "first impressions" review in the section for Tests, News & Rumors.

We want to offer more interested users the possibility to write short articles about their first impressions with their new gear. This can be a P&S camera, Medium Format cameras, lenses or accessories.

Nothing scientific. Just real world usage, feelings and impressions. Everybody can participate.

Enjoy it!
